  • Chris Williams of Jamaica shaved .01 off Mo Greene's former meet and stadium records in the 200m, sprinting 20.02
  • Virgilius Alekna of Lithuania warmed up for the gold medal he won later that year at the Sydney Olympics, tossing the discus 222-5
  • Marion Jones once again displayed why she is the most versatile sprinter in the world, lowering her own meet and stadium records in the 400m by blazing 49.59
  • Anjanette Kirkland claimed the meet and stadium records in the 100H, motoring to a time of 12.63
  • Stacy Dragila won the pole vault for the 4th consecutive year, clearing 14-2 3/4
  • Lisa Misipeka from American Samoa improved on her own meet and stadium records by tossing the hammer 214-0
  • Nora Rocha of Mexico lowered the meet and stadium records by winning the 5000m in 15:15.64
