- Bolden's HSI teammate,
Maurice Green, broke the meet and stadium record by blazing to a 20.03
time in the 200m
- Richie Boulet won
the mile in 3:58.2. In 3rd, Gabe Jennings (3:59.32) became the first
American Junior to break 4 minutes in the mile since 1983
- Karl Keska outraced
a great 5000m field with a time of 13:26.37
- John Godina had
the best-ever one day double in the throws, winning the shot (71-5 1/2)
and discus (218-1)
- Marion Jones moved
up from her usual specialities to take the 400m in 50.36
- Michelle Johnson
set the current meet and stadium record of 55.20 in the 400H
- Kim Carson missed
out on establishing new meet and stadium records when her blazing 100H
time of 12.69 turned out to be wind-aided
- The Vector Sports
4X100m relay team set the still-standing meet record of 42.55
