the 100m in 9.93
- Steve Lewis motored
44.45 in the 400m to set the still-standing meet and stadium records
- John Trautman clocked
new 5000m meet and stadium records, running 13:20.19
- The Santa Monica
Track Club 4X100m relay team, with Carl
Lewis on anchor, blazed to a time of 37.97
- The Mazda Track
Club 4X400m relay team set still-standing meet and stadium records with
a time of 3:00.48, while the Reebok women's 4X400m relay team set the
still-standing meet record of 3:26.87
- Hollis Conway set
the still-standing meet high jump record, skying 7-7 1/4
- Romas Ubartas of
Lithuania captured the discus with a toss of 223-8
- Dave
Johnson set the still-standing meet record in the decathlon, scoring
8727 points
- Meredith Rainey
set the still-standing meet record in the 800m, clocking a time of 2:00.27
- PattiSue Plumer
set another still-standing meet and stadium record, winning the 3000m
in 8:50.07
- Gail Devers won
the 100m in 10.95
- Maria Mutola set
a Mozambique National Record in the 1500m with a time of 4:13.42
- Yolanda Henry won
the high jump with a leap of 6-3 1/2
- Ramona
Pagel won her sixth Mt. SAC shot title with a mark of 60-2 1/2
- Lisa Misipeka won
the girls' high school shot put title with a throw of 43-5 3/4. Lisa
returned to the Relays in 2001 as an invitational athlete to set meet
and stadium records in the discus
