  • Bert Cameron took the 400m in 44.72
  • Sam Turner edged Greg Foster in the 110H, with both clocking 13.31
  • USC's alumni team knocked more than a second off the world record in the shuttle hurdles, running 54.20
  • Ria Stalman scored the first of three consecutive victories in the discus, winning with a throw of 218-5
  • Larry Myricks won the long jump with a leap of 27-6, Larry's longest legal winning jump among his six Mt. SAC long jump titles
  • Jackie Joyner scored 5933 points in the heptathlon
