- Mary Decker set a stadium record while winning the 880y in 2:04.8
- Francie Larrieu set a meet and stadium record in the mile, winning in 4:40.8. This is the oldest still-standing meet and stadium record for men or women
- Maren Seidler upped the meet record in the shot put to 53-4 3/4
- A high schooler by the name of Willie Banks gave notice of great things to come by winning the high school triple jump in 50-7 1/4
- Payton Jordan set a world masters' record in the M50-59 age group by dashing 100 yards in 10.7
