- In an unusual double, Lee Evans won the 440H in 50.5y, then returned 52 minutes later to win the 440 in 46.7y
- Willie Davenport (120H, 13.7y) and Frank Covelli (javelin, 262' 11") won their third consecutive Mt. SAC titles
- Bill Elliot upped the meet record in the high jump to 7' 1"
- Hal Connolly won his fifth -- and final -- Mt. SAC hammer title, tossing 221' 9"
- Jay Silvester threw 202' 10" to notch his fourth Mt. SAC discus title
- Randy Matson won his second Mt. SAC shot title, throwing 68' 11-1/2"
- Chi Cheng was a triple winner, scoring wins in the 100y (10.5), 220y (23.2) and 100m hurdles (13.3)
- Several women's events debuted at the Mt. SAC Relays. Winners included: Debbie Heald (mile, 4:55.9); Doris Brown (3000m, 9:44.6); Debbie Brill (high jump, 5' 6"); Joan Pavelich (shot put, 46' 7-1/2"); and the L.A. Track Club (mile relay, 3:53.8)
