  • Lennox Miller (Inger Miller's father) won the 100m in 10.3
  • Tom Farrell recorded the fastest 880y ever run at the Relays, running 1:47.9
  • Jim Grelle moved up to 5000m and claimed his final Mt. SAC title, clocking 14:10.8
  • Tommie Smith anchored San Jose State's 880 relay team to victory in 1:23.8
  • John Pennel added almost a foot to the meet record in the pole vault, clearing 17' 0"
  • Art Walker missed the U.S. record in the triple jump by less than an inch as he won his second consecutive title with a jump of 53' 10-1/4"
  • Ralph Boston won his third consecutive long jump title, leaping 26' 4-1/4"
  • Ed Burke also won his third consecutive title in the hammer with a throw of 223' 11". This was Ed's longest winning mark among his five Mt. SAC victories
  • Chi Cheng of Taiwan claimed her first Mt. SAC title, winning the 100y in 10.7. She also won the 80m hurdles in 11.0
